My work reflects my research on the intersection of making  and contemplation in relation to our life experiences and heritages. The focus is on image making and storytelling on the one hand, and on the exploration of processes, materials, traditional and improvised methods of making on the other. My artistic practice moves freely between the fields of fine arts (painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, textile, SEA), crafts, and the mediation of art.

Over time, the idea of familiarity, community and accessibility has become increasingly important.

Since 2014 I have been expanding my artistic practice, organizing, and curating exhibitions and collaborating with the British artist and fashion designer Felicity Brown. Thanks to our collaboration, I have rediscovered my interest in working with fiber and fabrics and initiate socially engaged art projects.

Together with my cooperation partners and visitors, the STUDIOSPACE Lange Strasse 31 and the STUDIOWERKSTATT 31 emerge as a dynamically developing space for exploring artistic creative processes and testing forms of communication and inclusion (in the general sense) in the arts.

With the STUDIOSPACE Lange Strasse 31, I create a dynamically developing space to explore art and textile design processes and test communication possibilities. With exhibitions and open workshops I would like to encourage people to experience themselves as creative, to understand artistic processes and to allow their own forms of expression.

I graduated in Fine Arts at Staatliche Hochschule der Bildenden Künste, Städelschule, Frankfurt am Main, where I studied with Christa Näher (1996-98).
I started my graduation program at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, Germany, with Peter Kastner,  Karl Kneidl, Beate Schiff, und Franz Eggenschwieler (1991-95). During the time I spent one year at Universidad de Complutense, Madrid, Spain, with Parallo (1993) as visiting student.
From 1989-1991 I worked at Theater Dortmund as costume assistant and tailor. I completed my men-tailoring apprenticeship at the bespoke tailor workshop Schmidt, Wiemeringhausen, with distinction (1985-88).

From 1999 - 2002 I maintained a studio in Madrid, Spain and 2006 - 2011 in Dubai, UAE.

Since 2015 I have been collaborating with British artist and fashion designer Felicity Brown.
In 2020 I founded the STUDIOSPACE Lange Strasse 31 in Frankfurt am Main. The project work is supported by the Kulturamt Frankfurt.

I have three children and live and work in Frankfurt am Main and Bad Vilbel.
